Civic Engagement

Mission Statement

The Dakota County Technical College Civic Engagement Committee is dedicated to promoting and sustaining opportunities that allow students to develop their citizenship skills and values through community involvement.

As part of this goal, the Civic Engagement Committee encourages faculty to create collaborative partnerships with communities and organizations to incorporate community service into their teaching to benefit the skill development of their students.

The Civic Engagement Committee has three overarching objectives:

  • Aid faculty in incorporating community service into their curriculum
  • Increase individual student involvement in committee service
  • Document student civic engagement activities and issues that are important to DCTC students
