Instructor Bios
Jorde, Weston
Wes teaches philosophy and English courses in the department of General Education. He holds an M.A. in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee and an M.A. in teaching from the University of St. Thomas. He completed his B.A. at Luther College with majors in philosophy and English and spent a year studying Scandinavian languages and culture at the University of Bergen, Norway. Wes taught at St. Thomas Academy in Mendota Heights, Minnesota before coming to DCTC.
In his instruction, Wes emphasizes practical skills and knowledge. About his approach, he says, "I design my courses so students gain skills in analysis and writing that they can use in the real world.”
Wes is interested in the philosophy of language, continental philosophy, poetry, theater, and Scandinavian culture.
