Instructor Bios
Jorde, Weston
Wes teaches philosophy and English courses in the department of General Education. Before his arrival at DCTC, he taught at Saint Thomas Academy in Mendota Heights, Minn. Wes holds an M.A. in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an M.A. in teaching from the University of St. Thomas. He completed his B.A. at Luther College with majors in philosophy and English, and he also spent a year studying Scandinavian languages and culture at the University of Bergen, Norway.
Wes appreciates DCTC's emphasis on practical skills and knowledge. About his teaching, he says, "I design my courses so my students gain skills in analysis and writing they can use in the real world."
In addition to the philosophy of language and continental philosophy, Wes is interested in poetry, film and Nordic culture.
