Defensive Driving

Learning techniques to avoid accidents has become one of life's tools to survival. Mastering the ethics and techniques of defensive driving will prevent costly accidents and higher insurance premiums and SAVE LIVES. Attendees include newly licensed or permit drivers, safety-conscious parents, driver training instructors, and drivers seeking to improve or enhance their skills in accident avoidance. We recommend driving your own vehicle on the course.

Courses

Ethics, Defensive Driving, and Accident Avoidance

This class is excellent for ALL ages, including the seasoned driver, those with learning permits, newly licensed drivers, safety-conscious parents and all drivers seeking to improve or enhance their skills in accident avoidance. Most insurance companies will offer a 10% insurance premium reduction after completion of this course.

During this course you will develop skills in:
  • Evasive maneuvering and accident avoidance
  • Hydroplaning and vehicle control
  • Wet skid pad braking
  • Vehicle dynamics
  • Panic, threshold, and control braking
  • Serpentine driving
  • Backing/parallel parking techniques
  • Individual reaction time

Defensive Driving - Snow Plow, Dump Truck, or School Bus

Increase safety. Reduce liability.

These six-hour classes are not intended to teach participants how to drive their specific vehicles, but rather how to drive them in a defensive mode. The classes consist of two hours of classroom instruction followed by four hours of hands-on driving training on our 2.8 mile driving course. Our experienced instructors provide valuable insight as well as informative videos in the classroom portion of the training to facilitate useful exercises on the driving course. Those disciplines include vehicle dynamics and control, acceleration, brake and steer techniques, evasive maneuvers, and backing.

Participants will learn new techniques using our driving course and spending time on the skid pad, decision making, backing, and serpentine portions of the course.
