Student Ambassador Role
Student Ambassador Discription
Student Ambassadors are work-study or student workers who assist Dakota County Technical College with Student Life programming, college recruitment, retention and community relations.
Student Ambassadors reach out to both future and current students to make them aware of our programs and services. Ambassadors promote student activities and campus involvement. They also assist faculty and staff with campus events.
As a Student Ambassador, you will have an exclusive opportunity to work with DCTC students, faculty and staff while serving as a positive role model to our future and current students.
Student Ambassadors can elect to work fall, spring and/or summer semesters, but are encouraged to make a yearlong commitment to the college. They receive a complimentary Student Ambassador shirt to wear during tours and campus events.
Student Ambassador Duties
- Appear in college promotional materials
- Staff information and greeter tables
- Assist future and current students
- Conduct campus tours
- Promote student activities and services
- Help with special events as needed

Student Ambassador Bios
Anna Voight
Working on her second year in the Executive and Administrative Assistant program, Anna Voight grew up on a hobby farm in Farmington, Minn.
A home-schooled, former PSEO student, Anna loves playing with her niece and nephews, spending time with family and friends, watching old movies, cooking, cleaning, playing and watching football, listening to country music and meeting fellow DCTC students.
A few of Anna's favorite movies include Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, Mr. Blandings Builds his Dream House and the original Cheaper by the Dozen.
The Green Bay Packers are her favorite football team. Reba McEntire is her favorite singer.
Carol Ferris
Carol Ferris is a returning student majoring in Management for Technical Professionals. She has a certificate in meeting and event management from DCTC, a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing communications from Metropolitan State University and a diploma in electronic publishing from Hennepin Technical College.
Carol is working on her Leadership certificate to help her develop new management skills.
Before returning to college in 2004, Carol worked as an advertising sales representative and production coordinator for magazines and newspapers. More recently, she coordinated logistics for award banquets and did onsite management for educational and promotional meetings.
Carol has lived most of her life in Minneapolis and its suburbs. Three years ago, she decided to leave the city and move to Rosemount with its surrounding fields and farms. Carol enjoys gardening, dancing, singing and socializing with friends.
