ASSETS Scholarships

DCTC is offering 14 $8,000 scholarships for the 2011–2012 academic year to eligible students enrolling or already enrolled in the college's Nanoscience Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Networking Administration, Information Systems Management and Software Development programs.

Developed to administer the grants, ASSETS, or Advancing Student Success in Engineering, Science and Technology, will begin offering the scholarships fall semester 2009.

ASSETS also offers extra support services for enrolled students, including tutoring, career advancement counseling, connection with a mentor, and bi-monthly meetings and outings that focus on student success both at DCTC and in their chosen industry. ASSETS students are encouraged to advance their professional development through student clubs and professional organizations as part of their scholarship responsibilities.

The scholarships are made possible by a National Science Foundation S-STEM grant.

Deadline

  • June 30, 2011 for the 2011–2012 Academic Year.

How to Apply

All students must complete the ASSETS application. Completing this application will also be used to consider students for DCTC general scholarships based on academic merit and/or academic need. Applicants may be required to interview with the ASSETS selection committee. Applicants will be notified of their status by August 5, 2011.
