Course Description

PHIL1400 : World Religions

This class is about learning the central beliefs of the world's major religions. Through writing, reflection, and presentation, students will explore the basic tenets of the world's major religions, who founded the religions, their main writings or scriptures, and their philosophical underpinnings concerning such issues as definition of religion, the existence of God/gods, faith, reason, ceremonial practices, and their relationships with the world.

Prerequisites: None.

Student Expectations:
Because World Religions is such participation oriented, class attendance is critical.
