Bring Nanotechnology into your classroom

A combination of online and hands-on lab experiences will provide you with the background, activities, experiments, pedagogical context and assessment materials to easily integrate nanoscience into traditional science courses at multiple grade levels.

Basic Approach
- Contact Deb Newberry (dmnewberry2001@yahoo.com) if you are interested in learning more about nanotechnology.
- Around April 21, you will receive a password which will allow you on-line access to all of the "on-line" modules.
- You may listen to as many of the modules as you would like.
- Some are recommended.
- Some are optional.
- When there are around ten teachers from multiple locations doing the on-line portion:
- A schedule questionnaire will be send with multiple dates that the "lab/hands-on" portion would be available at DCTC.
- Based on the responses:
- Several days will be selected to offer the lab portion.
- Making sure that every person has at least 1 day available.
- You attend the hands-on experience.
- Take it back to your classroom and have fun!!!
Stipends and CEU credits
- A stipend of $150 is available for completing the on-line and lab portion.
- An additional stipend of $100 is available upon in-class implementation and impact reporting.
- CEU credits are also available
Our Support
During the lab portion of the training we will work with you to determine insertion points in your specific curriculum for nano content insertion. We will help you correlate the nano content to current outcomes and standards as well as traditional level science. We are also available to support you in your classroom if you wish.
