Flextime Courses

FAQs

Q: How long does it take to complete a Flextime Course?

We recommend that students plan on 32 hours of work time for EACH credit of a course. For example, a 2 credit course would take about 64 hours to complete. Students are encouraged to divide that number by the number of weeks in the semester, or the number of weeks they want to take to complete the course to get an idea of how much time they need to work each week.

Q: The course schedule says these courses are 'By arrangement'. What does that mean? Do I have to set up a schedule with the instructor?

By arrangement can sometimes mean you need to set up a schedule with the instructor, but not in this case. Since the Flextime courses are online, you can work according to your own schedule as long as you put in enough time to complete the course within the semester.

Q: How much does it cost to take a Flextime Course?

Normal tuition rates apply. Please click here to see our current tuition rates .

Q: Can I do all my work online?

Yes, as long as you have the software required for the course installed on your home or work computer. Please see the Software Required Tab on the Flextime page for more information.

Q: Do the Flextime MS Office courses prepare me for Microsoft Certification?

Yes, they can, but they are not set up for that specific purpose. Please see the other courses listed under Office Careers (OFFC) in the current course schedule for courses that are specifically set up to prepare a student for certification.
