Kids on Course

I recently heard the story of three very smart kids who started their own business selling refurbished golf balls. They learned on the job, thinking in new ways, adapting to the needs of their customers and making the most of their diverse individual talents. The knowledge they attained will help them go far in their future endeavors.

As higher educators, we must work to support the concept of entrepreneurship at every stage of a child's development. To use a golf metaphor, when it comes to kids, the advancement of entrepreneurial thinking needs to become par for the course.

Career Corner

Stay Positive

Even if your job search doesn't seem to be working, don't give in to negative feelings or allow frustration to derail your professional aspirations. If you're feeling down, spend time with a friend or family member with a positive outlook. The key is finding someone who supports your efforts through encouragement and helpful suggestions. Avoid people who tend to complain or have a negative perspective.
